Many times it’s really easy to go on with our day to day lives and not realize how important it is to trust God. Sometimes it is easy to want to take matters into your own hands because we’re able to have control over it. This idea of having full control can be very misleading at times.

In my walk with God and the process of fundraising for this trip it has definitely been a “less of me and more of God” learning experience. The fact that I know that I cannot do this on my own makes me realize how much more I have to trust Him. I’ve been learning to trust in God and to walk by faith and not by sight. This means that even though you can’t control the situation, saying “God I trust you, it’s in your hands” can change the way the situation goes and your perspective on the whole situation.

It has also taught me that sometimes to trust in God means to let go of the things your used to. Let go of the things that make you comfortable because sometimes the things that make you comfortable can hinder your trust in Him. He wants our full trust. He never lets us down.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
